The Glens Falls Civic Center has been awarded the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Girls’ Volleyball Tournament for the next three years. Specific tournament dates are Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18, 2006, Friday, November 16, and Saturday, November 17, 2007 and Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, 2008.
Doug Kenyon, Section II Executive Director commented, “We are all extremely happy to secure this bid, and the Glens Falls Civic Center will probably be the best venue to ever host it.” Suzanna Bernd, Executive Director of the Glens Falls Civic Center, stated, “The Glens Falls Civic Center is proud to be the new home of the NYSPHSAA Girls' Volleyball Championships. The Basketball Tournaments in March have a significant impact on the regional economy, and I am sure the Volleyball Championships will as well.”
The Glens Falls Civic Center is an arena hosting sports and entertainment activities year-round for over twenty-five years. Home to the United Hockey League's Adirondack Frostbite and the Adirondack Wildcats of the United States Basketball League, it hosts a variety of sports, theater, and family entertainment events.
